• Board your overnight flight to Madrid, arriving in Spain on Day 2 of your tour. Today your CE Tour Director will lead you on a walking tour of Madrid, Europe’s highest capital at 2100 feet above sea level.

• A local guide joins you for a full morning sightseeing of Madrid, including such sights as the Puerta del Sol, the Plaza Mayor, and the Plaza de Oriente. You will visit the Palacio Real, built in the mid-18th century by King Philip V. This afternoon, you will visit the Prado, filled with works by Goya, El Greco, and many others.

• Today’s full-day guided excursion takes you to El Escorial and Segovia. El Escorial, the royal city created by Philip II, is known by Spaniards as the “Eighth Wonder of the World”. El Escorial is a UNESCO World Heritage Site, so deemed due to its cultural importance to the world.

• Today, enjoy a free day in Madrid! Visit museums, shop in the flea markets, or perhaps enjoy some tapas in a local resturant. Tonight you will see a traditional Spanish flamenco show.

• On your last morning you will visit Toledo, one of the former capitals of the Spanish empire. Toledo is also notable for its unique combination of Christian, Jewish and Moorish elements. Your afternoon back in Madrid is free for you to enjoy the city at your leisure.

• Today you say goodbye to Spain. Your CE Tour Director will assist you with your transfer to the airport for your flight home.
